In this week's installment of the sermon series "I Am Not Forgotten", Pastor Dino Rizzo explained how the enemy wants us to contract a serious form of "spiritual amnesia" when it comes to remembering all the things that God has done for us in the past:
All of the miracles.
All of the breakthroughs.
All of the healings.
All of the provision.
In Deuteronomy 4:9, Moses warns the Israelites about the danger in forgetting:
"But watch out! Be very careful never to forget what you have seen the Lord do for you. Do not let these things escape from your mind as long as you live! And be sure to pass them on to your children and grandchildren."
The warning here is two-fold: [1] Never forget! and [2] Tell the story!
It's not enough for us to remember God's mercies for ourselves alone, we must also tell of them!
Nothing God does is ever wasted motion. And when He does a good thing in your life, it certainly affects you, but it should also impact everyone else's life that you come in contact with.
The Saviour's mighty works in our life shows His favor on our behalf. And that favor should give us a boldness and make us fearless in the face of the enemy.
"Don't be afraid of the enemy! Remember the Lord, who is great and glorious, and fight for your friends, your families, and your homes!" -- Nehemiah 4:14 (emphasis mine)
We can use our God story as a tool to fight the enemy for the souls of our unsaved friends and relatives.
Our testimony is one of the strongest weapons we have in our spiritual aresenal, and we are to use it...not only to strengthen and encourage other believers, but also as a vehicle for witnessing to the lost.
