I equate listening to a new CD to reading a new book: it's always best to progess through the songs in order without skipping around.
However, that idea usually flies out the window when the new Hillsong album comes out each year.
Savior King, Hillsong's 2007 live worship album just came in the mail, and my anticipation can barely be contained.
Though the following statement could be made each time a new worship project from Hillsong is released, this one really seems like "their best effort yet."
Just a glance at the authors of the 14 new songs reveals the heart of this project: preparing the next generation of worship leaders at Hillsong Church through "team song writing". Seasoned musicians like Darlene Zschech, Reuben Morgan, Marty Sampson and Ray Badham are joining with newer faces like Mia Fieldes, Ben Fielding, Matt Crocker (to name a few) to write unbelievably inspired music.
Where two or three are gathered together in my Name, there am I in the midst of them.– Matt. 18:20
(I'll have a future post with more detailed thoughts after I have time to listen to the new album)
