On election ever here in Louisiana, I thought I would pass along the following excerpt from a great article on Red State was fitting:
This fall, Louisiana can choose the old ways of doing things, the
corrupt ways, the status quo. They can fall back. Or they can move
forward under the leadership of the brilliant young policy wonk who
chose his home over comfort and financial success. They can take this
opportunity to walk in a better path, a path toward solving their
problems, fixing the crushed houses and streets, and do what they have
to do to make this broken state new again.
The choice is theirs to make.
Votes have been cast. Decisions have been made. Whether or not Jindal wins a majority of the votes in a landslide or makes it to the run-off, we'll know soon enough as the results begin to come in later this evening.
An evangelical voter identified as "ilja" wrote a strong piece on the major dilemma facing Conservative Christians in the upcoming 2008 presidential election.
Out of all the GOP candidates, presently there are only a few that are "electable" and even fewer out of those who boast staunchly conservative records. And of the issues that matter most (abortion, border security, gay marriage) it's hard to find a Republican running whose position falls on the right side of the fence
The following E-Mail was waiting in my inbox this morning, and I wanted to post it here rather than forwarding it around:
REMINDER....all cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies today and you will start to receive sale calls. YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS!
To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone: 888-382-1222. It is the National DO NOT CALL list. It will only take a minute of your time. It blocks your number for five (5) years. You must call from the cell phone number you want to have blocked. You cannot call from a different phone number.
The entire process only takes about 20 seconds, which I can certainly spare.
Last night on Fox News, Fred Thompson and his wife Jeri sat down for an exclusive interview with Sean Hannity, marking the first official interview where the would-be First Lady has spoken publicly since Thompson announced his candidacy back in September.
Anytime Fred can speak from the heart on his beliefs and positions on the issues it's always entertaining, and I had really looked forward to watching this. The only criticism I had was for the first segment they had their two young kids sitting with them, and the daughter in his lap was really distracting from the serious answers Fred was giving.
I know what they were going for with the whole "family" image, but it was a huge relief for me when they came back from the break and the kids were gone.
