Ever since Facebook opened the doors every pet, sibling, and parent, advertisers are taking advantage of the larger user base to pimp their products and services through excessive apps and targeted movie fan promotions.
And Mark Zuckerberg's baby continues to prostitute its credibility, all for the purposes of the profit-hungry mainstream market.
But yesterday, I witnessed something especially deplorable.
With the upcoming release of the latest Hollywood doomsday movie, 2012, the ad bar is riddled with blurbs detailing how YOU and your Facebook friends can join in with the hype (if you "click here"):
The thing is, not everything is worth sensationalizing.
And not everything is a game.
If the world is over in three years, don't you have something more pressing to engage in than refining your status updates?
What about, I dunno, checking on the status update of your eternal soul?
