What about that civility that Obama called for awhile back? Shouldn't we fully expect the President to denounce Moran's attacks on this veteran?

In the latest issue of the Wall Street Journal, Rush Limbaugh writes an excellent, informed editorial on the threat of a government take-over of talk radio.
It's definitely worth a read, as Rush tackles an impending issue that will be addressed one way...or the other.
Here's an excerpt:
Mr. President, we both know that this new effort at regulating speech is not about diversity but conformity. It should be rejected. You've said you're against reinstating the Fairness Doctrine, but you've not made it clear where you stand on possible regulatory efforts to impose so-called local content, diversity-of-ownership, and public-interest rules that your FCC could issue.
I do not favor content-based regulation of National Public Radio, newspapers, or broadcast or cable TV networks. I would encourage you not to allow your office to be misused to advance a political vendetta against certain broadcasters whose opinions are not shared by many in your party and ideologically liberal groups such as Acorn, the Center for American Progress, and MoveOn.org. There is no groundswell of support behind this movement. Indeed, there is a groundswell against it.
There's much more in the full article over at WSJ Online.

DEVELOPING: A new report in shows that Sen. Harry Reid has officially tried to buy Louisiana, through a provision in the health care bill to lend $100,000 in support to disaster relief in our state.
Of course, this is all a deceitful ploy to garner Mary Landrieu's vote.
As of press time, there has been no confirmation that Landrieu has taken the bait, but it seems to only be a matter of time.
Sen. Landrieu has ducked all of Rant Rav!ngs calls all day.
First the line was busy (which meant that either she was getting a huge backlash, or she just took the phone off the hook).
Our most recent attempt has been met with the whole "all circuits are busy" farce.
But we will continue to pound the ever present dial tone, and we suggest all members of the Pelican state do so as well.
Here's her digits: 202-224-5824.
I shudder to think that our state would play a part in destroying the Constitution.

"The mailbox belonging to Senator Mary Landrieu, Louisiana, is full. Goodbye."
Looks like my fellow Louisianians acted on the following E-Mail, set today from Roger Villere, Chairman of the LA GOP:
Now the ol' Miss Piggy has made it known that she's against the bill, but just to keep her in check, we are going to reinforce the fact that our position has changed either.
Mission accomplished...for now.

Earlier today Matt Drudge released an excerpt from Sarah Palin's new book, "Going Rouge: An American Life" (which I previously reported on here.
Since Drudge's content changes so rapidly, I wanted to post it here in case it get bumped for something else. In this sampling of chapter four, Sarah talks about when she first discovered the McCain campaign's tight leash around her neck:

If you watch closely, liberals will tell you whom their most afraid of.
Whoever they unleash their viscous attack dogs on is usually the culprit.
Not John McCain.
Not Mitt Romney.
Not Mike Huckabee.
Sarah Palin?
Bingo.
Ever since the presidential campaign, character assassins have targeted Palin and her family, firing rounds of hatred and vitriol.
But with dignity and grace, the conservative former governor of Alaska has kept her character afloat.
And now she writes to tell about it.
Going Rogue: An American Life hits bookstore shelves on November 17, and is already lighting up best-seller charts online (over a month before release).
As she prepares to once again rise to prominence on the national scene, the wolves are beginning to growl.
Good thing Sarah is packing a shotgun.

A serious war has broken out on the web over two spoofs featuring our current and past presidents.
Some recent hoodlums in California have gone on a crime spree, as in "insulting the President" crime.

Editor's Note: Today, we feature a post by Matt Barber, a syndicated columnist for The Liberty Counsel:
The examples are piling up in terms of the radical pro-abortion polices he's planning to implement, the many-times-failed Marxist fiscal policies he's promised to test yet again, and – relative to his national security goals – the noxiously naive peacenik policies that have Mahmoud and Osama giggling themselves to sleep at night.
But on issues involving marriage, family and sexual morality, Obama's been even more brazen than some of his most ardent detractors could have expected. Literally within minutes after he took the oath of office, the official White House webpage was updated – under the heading of "The Agenda: Civil Rights" – to detail his wholesale "support for the LGBT (homosexual activist) community."
