ORIGINAL INTENT: Vindication for Goren and Eames

The much anticipated final season of Law & Order: Criminal Intent is three episodes in, and it feels SO good to see Detectives Bobby Goren and Alex Eames reunited on the Major Case Squad.

This smile at 0:26 tells the tale.

After all, it wasn't too long ago that the powers that be at NBC Universal's USA Network created a huge backlash from fans of the show by unceremoniously forcing actors Vincent D'Onofrio and Kathryn Erbe out of their roles in favor of the tepid Jeff Goldblum in an effort to take the show in a "different, quirkier direction".

MONK's Final Case, Final Time

Tomorrow night America will say goodbye to "a TV treasure".

And boy, are they rubbing it in.

This promo is enough to send me into mourning for a month.

You can be sure that Monk-o-philes nationwide will be bitter-sweetly celebrating the close of a Friday night tradition.

USA will be "wrapping things up," by running a Monk marathon tomorrow counting down to "Mr. Monk and the End, pt.2".

Part one of the finale was pretty epic, and rather serious for a change.

Part two sure has a lot of ground to cover in 44 minutes, including matching a lot of expectations, which are admittedly high for some.

Though I may have my personal preferences, I take comfort in the fact that the writers and producers were able to create a final storyline that fits their vision.

Going out the way they wanted to.

MONK: The Beginning of the End

While I've shed my tears that Monk is saying goodbye after 8 years, there's not any point in my protest.

Despite all my moping, the end is here, and it begins tonight.

The above USA promo began airing a few months ago, and is sad and yet somehow fitting for the Monk character.

We'll miss Adrian at the end of the road, but I for one am ready to enjoy the ride.

Remember to bring the bubble wrap, and don't forget the packing peanuts.

It's A Jungle Out There

The marketing geniuses at NBC Universal keep hitting home runs when it comes to promoting Monk. Take a look at the promo for Season 6 (which started last month) features the new Monk bobblehead. The music is a remixed track of the show's theme, "It's A Jungle Out There" (a tie in to the second episode of the new season which featured a storyline starring Snoop Dog).

Jim Ross Goes Into The Hall of Fame

The final wrestling legend to be inducted into the 2007 WWE Hall of Fame was announced last night on Monday Night RAW, and in a emotional moment, Jim Ross received a standing ovation following the airing of the above tribute video.

To those who don't know, Jim Ross is the leading play-by-play commentator in the WWE and his voice is permantly etched into many historical moments over the last decade. He is THE VOICE of wrestling, and absolutely has NO equal in the sport.

Ross joins an impressive group of wrestling personalities in the 2007 Class, including "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes, Mr. Fuji, Jerry "The King" Lawler, The Original Sheik, Nick Bockwinke, The Wild Samoans, and the late Curt "Mr. Perfect" Henning.

The final hour of the 2007 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony will be broadcast live from the Fox Theatre in Detroit this Saturday night at midnight/ 11pm central on the USA Network.

U Down 'Wit OCD?

MONK fans rejoice! Everyone's favorite obsessive compulsive detective returns with all new episodes beginning January 19th (alongside Psych) on the USA Network.

And the marketing department at Universal has been pulling out all the stops with some pretty clever commercials lately, including one entitled, "Monk Discovers Heaven" (featuring Adrian Monk exploring his own personal dreamland, where the sky is always blue and attendants disinfect parking meters).

New TV Land Show "Pitties The Fool"

I think I just discovered my new favorite show on Wednesday nights...

Mr. T has always been a character that's so larger-than-life, he transcends reality and is entertaining in any situation - especially when he plays himself. Enter TV Land, who has created a new show entitled, "I Pity The Fool" for Mr. T to do what he does best: talk trash, sucka!

Tuesdays Turn Criminal

Okay, this absolutely RULES for many reasons. Firstly, these are two of my favorite television shows and now I can catch all new episodes of both in the same night. And secondly, this an absolute MONEY promo with very clever editing, so I can appreciate it on that level too. Either way, this promo definitely raises my excitement for the new season.

Unfortunately, the only copy I could find of it from YouTube was of the ad playing in 3/4 of the screen above the ending credits. Still, you've got to check this out.

Well, I guess you don't HAVE to. But you should.
