Brian and I are still visiting churches around the LA area. One that we really like is called the Oasis.
We especially like the worship there, and it reminds us a lot of Healing Place back home. The building looks like it used to be an old theater, so it has an old time look on the inside.
The Pastors are Phillip and Holly Wagner. Holly has a great testimony and shared a few years back at the HP Woman's Conference.
Brian here. The Oasis is located on Wilshire Blvd - right around the Hollywood area. The church remains inconspicuous because it masquerades as a "theater" for rent.
But if there was any confusion as to whether the theater was just a theater, a Hollywood star for Jesus Christ sparkles outside on the sidewalk.
In this movie entertainment microcosm, an extravagant amount of attention is placed on mortal "celebrities" whose stars will distinguish once they die.
Last month we visited the Hollywood Walk of Fame (the Sunday before Michael Jackson's funeral). There was a mob of people around Jacko's star, weeping and throwing themselves on the ground.
Fans were sobbing and pressing in to stick their flowers and pictures close to his name plate. Cops had to block sidewalk traffic and redirect people into the street in order to pass.
All of this hubbub about a very talented man who left his fame behind in death.
All of this and we miss the true "celebrity" in history -- the most famous man who ever lived.
The Name above all Names.
The only one who is worthy of adoration, honor, and hero worship.
I'm glad that the Oasis gave the Morning Star His own.
